Gosford RSL

The traditional umbrella notion was flipped on its head for this project at Gosford RSL. The design called for inverting umbrellas to allow water to flow down into the middle of the umbrellas where gutters were located to disperse water. Additional fabric membrane gutters above the umbrellas catch water between umbrellas so that the umbrellas act as one continuous structure. Patrons remain dry and the area is usable in the wet. Some clever redesigning also kept the umbrellas cost effective. The umbrellas look very smart and were recognised by receiving a People Choice Award by the National Association STA.
