Rooty Hill RSL club is the largest RSL club in Australia with 48,000 members. Ongoing works include this 150sm clam shaped shade structure to improve the alfresco dining option at the Novotel Hotel restaurant.
The structure which is bolted to the terrace is independent of the main building. It has an irregular fan shape requiring all beams and posts to be unique. The shade structure is fitted with clear cafe blinds.
During construction extra focus was placed on restricted public access and minimising vehicle and machine movement and site noise.
With the addition of seating, lighting, heating, & plants the structure now functions as a weatherproof, alfresco dining terrace
